The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled September 19 for the conduct of five by-elections across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
The elections will cover one federal constituency and four state constituencies, according to the commission.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Tunde Oketola, disclosed the date in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Oketola, the federal constituency election will take place in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
The election is part of the five polls scheduled by INEC for September 19 as the commission moves to fill vacant legislative seats.
The remaining four by-elections will be conducted across Bauchi, Delta and Kano states.
In Bauchi State, voters in the Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies will participate in the polls.
The Udu State Constituency in Delta State will also be contested, while the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State is among the constituencies scheduled for the by-elections.
The September 19 elections will give eligible voters in the affected constituencies the opportunity to elect new representatives.

The commission is responsible for organising and conducting federal and state elections in Nigeria, including by-elections held to fill vacant legislative seats.
The affected states are therefore expected to witness increased electoral activities ahead of the scheduled date.
INEC has fixed September 19 for five by-elections across four states, covering the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency and four state constituencies in Bauchi, Delta and Kano.
The polls will determine new representatives for the affected constituencies.
