The presidential campaign organisation of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate Seyi Makinde and his running mate, Lawal Daura, has announced a series of town hall meetings across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign said the meetings are part of its nationwide consultation and grassroots mobilisation programme and will provide opportunities for citizens and stakeholders to discuss issues affecting the country.
The announcement was made by Anthony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to Makinde, during a press conference in Abuja on Sunday.
According to Ehilebo, the zonal engagement will begin in Katsina State on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, with the North-West town hall meeting.
The campaign will then move to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for the South-South meeting on September 25.
The North-Central session is scheduled for Lafia, Nasarawa State, on September 28, while the South-East meeting will take place in Enugu on September 30.
The organisation said dates for the North-East and South-West meetings would be announced later.
Ehilebo said the town halls would focus on critical national issues, particularly matters concerning national stability and the welfare of Nigerians.
He described the engagements as part of the campaign’s broader effort to consult citizens and stakeholders across the country.
According to him, the campaign’s “Reset Nigeria” message is centred on a governance model that it says would prioritise accessibility, accountability, transparency and citizen participation.
The campaign also said citizens would have opportunities to contribute to discussions on issues affecting their communities and the country.
Ehilebo said the campaign was seeking to present its proposed approach to governance through direct engagement with Nigerians.
He said the campaign’s stated objectives include making leaders more accessible and accountable, improving transparency in the management of public resources and giving greater consideration to citizens’ views.
The campaign spokesperson also described the initiative as a grassroots mobilisation exercise ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Those descriptions are claims by the campaign organisation and do not independently establish the level of public support for the ticket.

The town hall programme comes as political parties and candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 general election.
INEC’s current election calendar lists January 16, 2027, for the Presidential and House of Assembly elections, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.
The Makinde- Daura campaign said its consultations across the six geopolitical zones would continue as it engages citizens and stakeholders ahead of the polls.
