Oyebanji Re-Election Victory has earned Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji high praise from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his decisive win in Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election.

In a statement released on Sunday, President Tinubu congratulated the governor on securing a fresh mandate from the people of Ekiti State, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of his administration’s achievements and development agenda.

The President also commended residents of the state for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the electoral process and for demonstrating confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership through their votes.

Tinubu further praised security agencies for maintaining law and order before, during and after the election, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere across the state.

The President urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to build on the success of the Ekiti election by continuing efforts to conduct peaceful, free, fair and credible elections ahead of the Osun State governorship election in August and the 2027 general elections.

With the victory, Oyebanji has made history as the first governor in Ekiti State to secure back-to-back re-election victories, reinforcing his position as one of the state’s most popular political leaders.

President Tinubu noted that Governor Oyebanji’s first term was marked by significant progress in key sectors, including infrastructure development, agriculture, youth empowerment, education, healthcare and rural development under the administration’s BAO Agenda.

According to the President, the outcome of the election reflects the people’s approval of the governor’s performance and their desire for continuity, stability and people-centred governance.

He urged the governor to remain magnanimous in victory and continue to govern inclusively by carrying all segments of the state along as he begins a new four-year term.

Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election, noting that they exercised their democratic rights and contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.

The President stressed that now is the time for all political stakeholders in the state to unite behind the governor and work collectively towards advancing development and improving the lives of Ekiti residents.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more developmental projects and deepen the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda across the state.

President Tinubu concluded by praying for divine wisdom, strength and good health for Governor Oyebanji as he continues to serve the people of Ekiti State in his second term.
