Russia said on Friday that it had destroyed 376 Ukrainian drones overnight in attacks across the country, while authorities reported fires at several oil facilities following the strikes.
The Russian defence ministry said its air defence systems intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles in multiple regions, including areas around the capital Moscow.
The overnight attacks came as Ukraine continues to increase strikes against Russian energy infrastructure, targeting facilities that provide a key source of revenue and fuel for Moscow’s war effort.
Kyiv has said attacks on Russian oil and energy facilities are a response to repeated Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
According to Russian officials, drone debris caused a fire at an oil refinery in the southern Krasnodar Krai region.
Additional fires were reported at two petrol storage facilities in the Azov district, local authorities said.
Fragments from drones also fell in the Severskaya district of Krasnodar Krai, where the Ilsky refinery is located. Regional officials said debris landed in several locations, including the courtyard of a residential property.
No casualties were reported following the attacks, according to authorities.
Emergency services were deployed in affected areas to manage the fires and assess damage.
The latest drone strikes come amid increasing attacks on energy facilities on both sides of the conflict.
Ukraine has intensified efforts to disrupt Russia’s oil infrastructure, arguing that energy revenues help finance Moscow’s military operations.
The attacks have targeted refineries, storage facilities and other parts of Russia’s energy network, creating pressure on fuel supplies and logistics.
Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged last month that the country was experiencing fuel shortages following repeated Ukrainian strikes on energy sites.

The Kremlin has criticised Ukraine’s attacks on Russian infrastructure, while Kyiv has defended the operations as legitimate military actions aimed at reducing Russia’s ability to sustain the war.
Since the start of the conflict, both Russia and Ukraine have relied heavily on drone technology, with unmanned aerial vehicles becoming a major feature of modern warfare.
Drones have been used for surveillance, battlefield operations and long-range attacks against military and economic targets.
The latest exchange highlights the continued expansion of the conflict beyond traditional front lines, with energy infrastructure increasingly becoming a target.
Russia’s defence ministry did not provide further details on the locations or circumstances of all the drone interceptions, while Ukrainian officials had not immediately commented on the reported overnight attacks.
The war, now in its fourth year, has caused widespread destruction and remains unresolved despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Both countries continue to carry out attacks against strategic targets as fighting continues across occupied and contested areas of Ukraine.
