Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has called on Nigerian youths to embrace responsibility, promote national unity and place the country’s interest above personal ambition, stressing that the nation’s future depends on a generation committed to service and purposeful action.
Gbajabiamila made the call in a goodwill message delivered to participants at the 2026 National Retreat of the City Boy Movement, themed “Youth, Unity and Action.” He described the gathering as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future, coming at a crucial period of economic transformation and institutional reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the Chief of Staff, no nation can rise above the quality of its youth, adding that Nigeria’s future will be shaped by young people who are prepared to embrace responsibility, uphold unity and translate vision into meaningful action.
“The future we seek will not arrive by chance; it will be built deliberately by men and women who choose service over self, sacrifice over comfort, and nation over narrow interest,” he said.
Gbajabiamila said the Tinubu administration has confronted long-standing structural challenges through major economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange market and reforms aimed at modernising Nigeria’s tax system.
He noted that these measures are gradually restoring economic stability by easing inflationary pressures and rebuilding investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.
The Chief of Staff added that investments in infrastructure, education and youth empowerment—including expanded student loan programmes and initiatives to equip millions of young Nigerians with technical skills—are creating new opportunities for the country’s younger population.
According to him, these reforms are designed to achieve long-term national renewal rather than short-term political gains.
Gbajabiamila commended the Patron and National Leader of the City Boy Movement, Barrister Seyi Tinubu, for his commitment to youth development and leadership.
He described Seyi Tinubu’s vision as a driving force behind the growth of the organisation, saying his dedication reflects the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Chief of Staff also described the retreat’s theme, “Youth, Unity and Action,” as timely, noting that youth represents innovation, courage and resilience, while unity transforms Nigeria’s diversity into a source of national strength.
He urged members of the City Boy Movement to become ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting peaceful engagement, building bridges across communities and demonstrating responsible leadership.
Deputy Chief of Staff Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadeji called for stronger grassroots mobilisation, institutional strengthening and sustained public engagement to consolidate the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, unveiled the organisation’s strategic roadmap to mobilise 10 million youth votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
According to him, the strategy prioritises grassroots mobilisation through expanded structures across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with greater emphasis on ward-level engagement rather than social media campaigns.

Shoga explained that the approach aims to counter misinformation and deepen public understanding of the Renewed Hope Agenda through community-based advocates.
National Secretary of the movement, Tosin Odufuwa, described the retreat as a defining moment for the organisation, saying it was designed to strengthen coordination, improve strategy and prepare members for the next phase of nationwide mobilisation.
He said the City Boy Movement has grown into one of Nigeria’s largest youth-driven political organisations and urged participants to leave the retreat with renewed commitment, stronger coordination and a unified vision for national development.
The second day of the retreat, themed “National Leadership, Mobilisation and Strategy,” brought together state coordinators from across the country, members of the National Working Committee and key stakeholders, including Patron Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.
