Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, has urged citizens to participate actively in the 2027 elections by exercising their franchise and voting for leaders of their choice.
Aniagwu stated this during an interview on DOTT TV’s Morning Dew, where he spoke on the political build-up to the 2027 elections, infrastructure, environmental concerns and the state’s 13th-month salary.
On the political landscape, Aniagwu said competition would give voters more options, while urging political opponents to play fair and allow citizens to make their choices at the polls.
He also said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be unexpected, particularly in the context of the ongoing reforms.
The Commissioner further addressed infrastructural challenges along federal corridors, including the Asaba-Agbor axis, saying the government was tackling them gradually.

He also said environmental concerns around Asaba, Agbor and communities close to the River Niger would be brought to the attention of the Ministry of Environment for necessary action.
On the 13th-month salary, Aniagwu said the initiative increases the purchasing power of civil servants and stimulates economic activities across the state, with businesses and other residents also benefiting from increased spending.
Aniagwu’s comments come amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with political parties and aspirants positioning themselves for the contest. Recent statements by the Commissioner have also focused on the Oborevwori administration’s performance and its expected role in the 2027 campaign.
