Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been announced as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California, on June 10.

FIFA confirmed the development as part of its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will be the first World Cup to feature an expanded format with 48 participating nations.

According to FIFA, Davido will perform alongside internationally acclaimed music group Major Lazer, led by American DJ and producer Diplo, during the Los Angeles edition of the countdown celebration.

The concert forms part of a major entertainment programme designed to unite football fans across the three host countries through music, culture, and sport ahead of the global tournament.

In a statement, FIFA described the Los Angeles event as a vibrant celebration that will bring together world-class music performances and football culture in one unforgettable experience.

The concert will be held at the Crypto.com Arena, with organisers expecting thousands of fans to attend. Performances in Los Angeles will also be connected to simultaneous celebrations taking place in Toronto, Canada, and Mexico City, creating a unique cross-border event spanning all three host nations.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the Countdown Concert series reflects the spirit of unity, diversity, and cultural connection that defines the FIFA World Cup.

He noted that the events are designed to showcase the shared passion for football while celebrating the rich cultural identities of the host nations and the global fan community.

Tickets for the concert officially went on sale on June 3, while FIFA also confirmed that the event will be streamed live worldwide through its digital platforms, including its FIFA World Cup TikTok channel.

Fans unable to watch the live performance will have access to the full concert and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage through FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live, beginning the following day.

Davido’s inclusion in the global event further highlights the growing international influence of Afrobeats and Nigeria’s expanding presence on some of the world’s biggest entertainment stages.
